ACCIÓN GRÁFICA URGENTE
Durante el levantamiento social chileno de 2019, activamos la ACCIÓN GRÁFICA URGENTE, una serie de activaciones gráficas para crear afiches de protesta que luego fueron pegados en las calles como una forma de testimonio. Ante un contexto de violencia policial y borradura sistemática, respondimos amplificando las demandas colectivas que llenaban las calles.
Estas acciones se realizaron en Buenos Aires y Santiago durante las primeras semanas de la revuelta popular para encontrarnos, contenernos y plasmar nuestra rabia y sueños para Chile. Les participantes crearon más de 30 carteles en la galería de arte Piedras y 24 en la corporación cultural Balmaceda Arte Joven. Con el auge de los movimientos sociales en todo el mundo, creemos que el activismo gráfico es una estrategia radical para responder ante la urgencia social y archivar un momento histórico.
During the Chilean social uprising of 2019, we activated the urgent graphic action, a series of collective graphic activations to create protest posters that were later wheat-pasted in the streets as a form of testimony. Faced with a context of police violence and systematic erasure, this was our way of amplifying the collective demands that filled the streets.
We carried out these actions in Buenos Aires and Santiago during the first weeks of the popular revolt to meet, contain ourselves and express our anger and dreams for Chile. The participants created more than 30 posters in the Piedras art gallery and 24 in the Balmaceda Arte Joven cultural corporation. With the rise of social movements around the world, we believe that graphic activism is a radical strategy to respond to social urgency and archive a historical moment.
